NLN welcomes Annie Andrews as Interim Chair

The National Landcare Network welcomes Annie Andrews from Landcare NT as Interim Chair after Patrick O’Connor from the Landcare Association of SA stepped down from the position.

Dr O’Connor will continue as an engaged board member, and we acknowledge the significant achievements of the NLN which were driven by Dr O’Connor during his three years as Chair. These include:

  • Establishing the Parliamentary Friends of Landcare in the Australian Parliament
  • Demonstrating the capacity of Landcare to respond to critical events through the Bushfire Recovery program
  • Developing the Landcare Futures Framework towards a national Landcare plan for Australia

Ms Andrews is Chair of Landcare NT, a position she has held since 2018. Annie has a long connection to the NGO community, having been involved with various Landcare groups across the Top End and numerous other community-based NGO’s. She has qualifications in Horticulture, Environmental Science and Project Management.

Ms Andrews has extensive experience across the environmental and utility sectors and holds a diverse range of skills: management of landcare projects; development of environmental education programs; leading environmental assessment and compliance activities and strategy development.

Ms Andrews is currently in a Project Management role, delivering a range of power related projects including connection of solar power stations to the power grid.

She brings a passion for supporting people on the ground who enhance our daily lives by making a commitment to the environment.

The National Landcare Network is excited to continue representing community Landcare across Australia as a united voice under Ms Andrews, guided by its strong core values and vision.
