Membership rules

The National Landcare Network will consist of two (2) representatives from each State or Territory from the relevant representative organisation.

The representatives will form the committee of the association.

Committee members will have formal written endorsement from their State or Territory representative organisation.

Written endorsement of committee members will remain valid for 12 months.

Written endorsement will include:

1. a copy of the minutes documenting the nomination of the two representatives by the committee to the NLN;
2. A formal acknowledgement that the representatives of the organisation will work positively with NLN to develop policy and initiatives to support community Landcare;
3. That the State or Territory organisation will hold their nominees accountable for actions whilst representing them on the NLN committee.

A state or territory organisation shall be deemed to be representative if it meets the following criteria:

1. its rules, constitution or governance documents require:
   
   1. community Landcare group members determine, elect or nominate its delegates or members;
   2. its objects are to represent the interests of, and advocate on behalf of, community Landcare;
   3. Is an independent community organisation, and;
   4. That it has an organisational structure which seeks to represent community Landcare across the whole state or territory.
